Not much is known about the Oceania armor worn by people who lived on the islands in the pacific ocean, but we do know that the majority of them had different kinds of
armor.
Unfortunately most islanders didn't keep records so most are lost to the passage of time.
The best known armor came from the Gilbert Islands, where the natives wore armor made of woven coconut fibers that was created to protect them from the weapons they also made,
swords and spears studded with shark teeth. A looser weave of coconut fibers covered the arms and legs and also gave mobility, while the cuirass was much more solid, and also
included a very high rear neck guard.
Lastly, they wore helmets made from the skin of spiny puffer fish. Even on isolated islands where there was very little outside influence people fought with each other and continued the battle of better weapon, better armor.
